This was the first such mission for the International Fire and Rescue Association to Ecuador and therefore served not only as a training mission, but provided an opportunity to meet the key members of the Cuerpo de Bomberos, develop a working relationship, assess the current situation on the ground and ultimately to make recommendations on how best to work together in future.
The plan was to deliver three distinct courses; RTC Procedures (including Electric Vehicles), Incident Command and Rope Rescue. The team were also invited to take part as students on a Wildfire Awareness course run by the academy.
The team consisted off : -
Dave Wishart - Scottish Fire & Rescue Service (rtd)
Gillon Staley – Scottish Fire & Rescue Service
